The Stranger
My review
Hands down my favorite book of all time by my favorite author. Camus’s writing is pure genius. The standout moment for me is Meursault’s quiet indifference to the drama around him, choosing to just shut up, smoke a cigarette, and look at the sea. It perfectly encapsulates his character and the philosophy of the book in one simple sentence. A 5-star masterpiece that everyone needs to experience.
My favourite quote
Madame Masson was crying and Marie was very pale. I didn’t like having to explain to them, so I just shut up, smoked a cigarette, and looked at the sea. Raymond came back with Masson around one-thirty.
