Master and Man
My review
I usually appreciate Tolstoy’s psychological insights, but this one missed the mark for me. A short book that somehow manages to feel very long. Tolstoy’s Master and Man is a straightforward parable about greed and survival, but the pacing is just too slow to keep things interesting. The characters spend most of the book just getting lost over and over again in a snowstorm. It has a powerful ending, but the slow journey to get there wasn’t really worth it for me.
